Not much happened in early 2025. Very little snow until mid to late January so XC-ski season got off to a late start. February skiing was great but not much base was built up. It got warm and rained on and off in early to mid March so it may be a short season. The 27" monitor was mounted in the living room and looks great but the monitor is too small to read recipes from the kitchen. March skiing was good but ended too soon.
In April Sandy started renovating her kitchen. This was a big undertaking with Sandy doing some of the work and with me helping. At the end of April I broke down and bought an inflatable dinghy and an ePropulsion 3HP electric motor.
In June Jo-Ann went to her class reunion. Shannon went in place of Margo.
In June the rock pile got too large so I switched from digging out the beds in front of the house (turning up more rocks) to building the retaining wall slightly behind and around the smaller boat. This used enough rocks that by end of July I was back to working on the beds. This was going well including adding mulch until I badly hurt my left leg while loading mulch. In August Ray and crew took a half day and finished the mulch job.
Not much else could happen in August since for most of the month I could only walk a little without my leg swelling up. Jo-Ann did host a birthday party for me. I didn't take photos but Jo-Ann did.
In mid-September I had recovered and dog sat for Erin and Mike. I mounted a GoPro on Lily and took her for a few hikes. When Erin and Mike got back I hiked with Erin and Lily.
On October 4 Jo-Ann hosted another apple day. We had 8 people and made 17 apple pies.
Then in late September I started rototilling behind and to the side of the garage. This continued in October, breaking the rototiller handle at one point. This is an ongoing project at this time.
